GermanWineEstates is owned, designed and operated by Eric Litchfield, a wine professional and German and Austrian wine expert with 36 years of experience importing and promoting those wines. The wine portfolio that Mr. Litchfield created represented an excellent array of high quality wines from Germany's and Austria's most prestigious and dynamic producers.These wine estates continue to receive tremendous acclaim from various wine publications around the world. Mr. Litchfield was on the Advisory Board of Wines of Germany, formerly known as the German Wine Information Bureau, the exclusive U.S. office of the Deutsches Weininstitut. He was also inducted into the Ordre des Compagnons du Beaujolais, an esteemed French organization dedicated to the wines of the Beaujolais region in France.
The website was founded in 1990 to bring together Mr. Litchfield's deep expertise and a genuine passion for sharing the stories behind Germany’s most distinctive wines and wineries. It is the pleasure of the author to provide interesting and current information to those interested in the great wines of Germany.
